Whoa! Here’s some shocking and sad news concerning the 18-year-old son of Alton Sterling, the Louisiana man that was shot and killed by police in 2016 on video.
Cameron Sterling has been accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy.
Sterling was arrested Wednesday and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of first-degree rape, according to prison records.
The story goes that on the night December 8, Sterling was was babysitting when he allegedly locked himself in a bedroom with the child and raped him, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the Advocate, Sterling
The alleged victim’s mother questioned Sterling about what exactly happened, but he denied that he did anything wrong. He did tell the mother he was having some sort of episode at the time.
As we reported, Cameron’s father, Alton Sterling, was selling music in front of a Baton Rouge convenience store July 5, 2016 when he was killed and wildly controversial police shooting. Authorities had been responding to reports that the 37-year-old was brandishing a gun.
In the hours after Alton Sterling died, his son — 16 years old at the time — became overwhelmed by emotion during a news conference about the tragedy. He covered his face and sobbed as his mother discussed the police shooting.
“I want daddy,” the teen wailed over and over. “I want Daddy.”
A week later, Cameron Sterling again addressed the public, begging Louisiana residents to come together “as one united family” in wake of his father’s death.
“You can protest, but I want everyone to protest the right way. With peace. No violence — none whatsoever,” he said.
“I truly feel that my father was a good man, and he will always be a good man.”
Dang, and he goes from that to this. We can only hope it’s not true.
