Rapper Fred Da Godson Passes Away From COVID-19

Fred Da Godson has died from COVID-19. The Bronx rapper’s associate Jaquae reportedly confirmed he passed away via an Instagram post.

A couple of weeks ago, Fred asked for prayers after revealing he was battling COVID-19 and was on a respirator. Despite his wife, LeeAnn Jemmott, revealing his condition had improved shortly after the reveal, it would be his final post.

According to Complex:

Fred the Godson has died after he contracted the coronavirus earlier this month.

He first revealed he was in the hospital and placed on a ventilator on April 6, with his wife explaining he wasn’t faring well. He reportedly started to make positive progress in hospital, but he ultimately lost his battle against the virus on Thurday.

News of the 35-year-old’s death broke via people paying tribute to him on social media. A rep for Fred the Godson confirmed his passing to Complex.

Fred had just his new album Paycheck in March.
