MAYOR DAN HORRIGAN TO DELIVER 2017 STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS FEBRUARY 28TH AT THE JOHN S. KNIGHT CEN

Akron, Ohio, January 23, 2017— Mayor Dan Horrigan will deliver his 2017 State of the City Address at the John S. Knight Center on February 28, 2017 during a luncheon hosted by the Akron Roundtable. The State of the City Address is an annual event where business, community, faith, nonprofit, and government leaders come together to hear the "state of the city" from Akron's Mayor. Partners for the event include the Akron Roundtable, the Greater Akron Chamber, Leadership Akron, the Rotary Club of Akron, Akron Kiwanis, and PEG (Pritt Entertainment Group). Mayor Horrigan's address will highlight the accomplishments of his first year in office and focus on his vision and planned initiatives for 2017 and beyond. Mayor Horrigan is the 62nd Mayor of Akron and has built the foundation of his leadership around his commitment to improving the education, income, and health of Akron residents and implementing innovative, fiscally-responsible policies that will increase the efficiency and transparency of City operations. Mayor Horrigan is proud to announce that proceeds of the event will benefit the newly-formed Russell M. Pry Memorial Scholarship at The University of Akron School of Law, in honor of Mayor Horrigan's late friend and mentor, Summit County Executive Russ Pry.
