OUTRAGE OVER ‘PATHETIC’ BROTHER AND JUDGE ‘MAMMY TAMMY’ WHO HUGGED BOTHAM JEAN’S KILLER IN COURT
A Dallas County jury sentenced Amber Guyger to 10 years in prison Wednesday after convicting her of murdering her upstairs neighbor Botham Jean in his apartment last year.
After delivering a victim impact statement to Guyger, Brandt Jean, the victim’s younger brother, asked Judge Tammy Kemp if he could hug Botham’s killer.
“If you truly are sorry, I know I can speak for myself, I forgive you. I know if you go to God and ask him, he will forgive you,” said Brandt during his statement.
Kemp granted the young man’s request, and he and Guyger embraced.
“Pathetic Christian man. Amber only deserves scorn and curses,” said one Twitter user of Brandt (via Lipstick Alley)
“He’s better than me. There ARE some things only God can forgive. SMH. I can’t get invested in another one of these cases. They all go the same way, even with a “Murder” charge,” added another.
A third noted: “This is why I can’t commit 100% to Christianity. You kill my brother you’ll never get a wink of sleep, prison or not. I’m on your ass, period. Motherf*ck a forgiveness.”
After the sentencing, Judge Kemp also hugged Guyger and gave her a bible.
“This is your job,” the judge said, opening the book and mentioning John 3:16, saying this will strengthen Guyger, who nodded her head.
“You just need a tiny mustard seed of faith,” the judge said. “You start with this.”
Many believe the judge acted suspiciously unprofessional by hugging a murderer, and Black Twitter has dubbed her: Judge Mammy Tammy.
Inquiring minds also want to know: “Has anyone ever seen a White judge hug a Black defendant, especially one that murdered someone? “
Many co-signed with Bishop Talbert Swan who noted that he’s “Exhausted by the common script of the Black oppressed offering absolution to their white oppressors and the sick fascination of wypipo and the media watching marginalized people forgive racist murderers and fetishizing our endurance of injustice,” he wrote on Twitter.
Swan also pointed out how “sickening” it is “seeing wypipo still mad at OJ, who support locking kids in cages, defend police who murder unarmed Blacks, hate muslims because of 9/11, and can’t stand Obama because he’s Black, talk about how great it is for a Black man to forgive the bigot who murdered his brother.”
He then highlighted the disturbing level of mammying an coonery put on display for global spectators of the trial, writing: “When a Black bailiff combs Amber Guyger’s hair, Black judge hugs her, and the victim’s Black brother declares forgiveness, it satisfies the demand that Blacks suffer phlegmatically so our pain neither offends wypipo’s sensibilities nor sparks their guilt or fragility. Disgusting” — (see images below).
Filmmaker Tariq Nasheed said it best with: “I have never seen a judge hugging a convicted cold blooded murderer. Black people in this courtroom was hugging, petting and comforting this racist killer Amber Guyger nonstop. Thats the justification that mostly white-identified jury needed to give her a slap on the wrist.”
And when it comes to the same ‘ol tired ass song about forgiveness and compassion, many “woke” Black folks ain’t having it, including NFL star Shannon Sharpe, who wrote: “What are the chances Botham Jean would have received 10 yrs for murdering Amber Guyger after entering her apt illegally? What are the chances some of her family would hug him as his family hugged her? Blk ppl are always expected to be compassionate but rarely receive compassion”
One Twitter user added: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. A cold blooded murderer being coddled by Botham’s Family, the judge and a black police officer. Where’s the justice for Botham? His family should be ashamed. I am ashamed for them.”
Former Congressional Press Secretary Rochelle Ritchie said, “Black people have to STOP with the forgiveness speech when we are targeted with violence by those who do not look like us. Y’all have to wake up and educate yourselves on battered race syndrome. Your “forgiveness” is really trauma and we for generations have been taught…”
Author Kola Boof also noted: “When a HOMELESS BLACK MOTHER gets sentenced to years in prison for nothing more than lying about her son’s address so he can go to school….. You don’t see any BLACK FOLKS hoarding up in court to hug & comfort her. NO! She’s Fat, Dark, homeless, doomed. She gets ignored!”
Meanwhile, user @maxgordon19 said “I wish some of us “religious” folk, always talking about Christ and forgiveness, would hug our transgender and LGBTQ children the way we hug our white murderers. The world might be a better place.”
“Did anyone hug 16-year-old Kalief Browder when he was sentenced to 3 years at Rikers Island for a stolen bookbag that’s was never found?,” wrote user @_MizzDukez.
Torraine Walker summed it all up by warning: “Get ready for a “spontaneously viral” distraction video of a white cop helping a Black girl ride a bike, or beatboxing for a little Black boy rapping in the park or something to flood social media by Friday.”
