Akron Community Discussion on Education:



Akron, OH - August 29, 2023 - The Akron chapter of the NAACP is proud to announce the Akron Community Discussion on Education, a two-day event aimed at fostering dialogue and collaboration to enhance the quality and equity of education in Akron. This engaging event will take place on September 29 and 30, 2023, and is open to educators, community leaders, parents, students, and all individuals passionate about shaping the future of public education in Akron.


The first day of the discussion, September 29, will be held at House Three Thirty, a dynamic venue known for hosting thought-provoking events. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a series of stimulating panel discussions focused on creating high-quality and equitable education systems. Distinguished guest speaker Kurt Russell, the 2022 National Teacher of the Year, will share his invaluable insights and experiences during this event. Mr. Russell's expertise and dedication to education make him an ideal addition to this important dialogue.


On September 30, the conversation will extend beyond the walls of House Three Thirty, with dialogue circles taking place throughout the Akron area. These smaller, more intimate settings will provide an opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful conversations about the purpose and future of public education in Akron. By fostering dialogue within the community, the Akron Community Discussion on Education aims to empower individuals to contribute their ideas and perspectives, ensuring a collaborative approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities in education.
