Akron Public Schools, City of Akron, and Akron Police Department Announce Approved Agreement

Akron Public Schools (APS) is pleased to announce that the Board of Education has voted six in favor, with one abstention, to approve the new agreement for school safety and security services with the City of Akron and the Akron Police Department. This vote solidifies a strong partnership dedicated to the safety of all students, staff, and visitors within the district.

With the Board of Education's approval, the agreement ensures a continuation of safety services for the start of the school year.

"This approved agreement is a testament to the strong partnership between the City, the Akron Police Department, and our school district. It ensures that our schools will remain safe havens for learning, allowing our educators to focus on what they do best: providing a world-class education for our students."
