City Of Akron's Lock 3 Releases 2023 Summer Concert And Event Schedule
Due to ongoing improvements in Lock 3 Park, the Rock the Lock concerts, Saturday concerts, including Old School Soul, and movies will be held in Lock 3’s Backyard. The Backyard is located behind the original stage, next to The Akron Civic Theatre. Guests can enter from W. Bowery St. and parking is located at the State Street parking deck and Cascade parking deck. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Please bring your chair or blanket.
Live & Local concerts, Gospel Sundays and On The Plaza (sponsored by Downtown Akron Partnership) fitness, skate nights and line dancing will be held at Cascade Plaza on Main St between W. Bowery and Mill Streets.

Rock the Lock featuring your favorite tribute bands including Fleetwood Mac Mania, E5C4P3, ABBA Mania, Who's Bad, and so much more. First Rock the Lock concert is Fri. June 23. Gates open at 6:00 PM, and concerts begin at 7:00 PM. Free Admission except the following dates: 7/7, 8/11, 9/1, 9/2, 9/3 - ($5 Cash at the gates) . Click here for the full list of bands and dates.
Sunday Backyard Movie Series
Join us on Sunday evenings this summer beginning in June and enjoy a family-friendly movie on the Lock 3 Cleveland Clinic outdoor stage. Located on W. Bowery next to The Akron Civic Theatre. Movies will include Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Zootopia, Coco, Sing 2, and more. Free admission, bring a chair or blanket. (Movies subject to change) The list will be updated here.
Gospel Sundays
Join us for evenings of uplifting, joyful music located at Cascade Plaza on Sundays beginning July 16 from 4-6 pm. Free admission, please bring a chair.

LUNCH @ THE LOCK
NEW! Enjoy lunch outside Fridays beginning on June 2. Located between Lock 3 & Lock 2 near the Towpath. Bring your lunch, buy from a downtown eatery, or enjoy from one of our food trucks. Family-friendly entertainment will be available from 11:30 am-1:30 pm and yard games too! Full schedule posting soon.
Festivals
The City is excited to once again host a series of festivals in downtown this summer. The Rib White and Blue Festival returns this year from June 30th-July 4th. Admission is free and there will be nightly concerts. Other festivals include The African American Cultural festival in July, the Italian American Festival in August, the Punk Rock Flea Market in August, and the Annual Akron Pizza Fest in September.
