City of Akron to Celebrate Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 25 from 5-7PM

The City of Akron’s annual Halloween celebration will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Any Akron resident that wishes to participate in “Trick or Treat” can do so by turning on their porch or front lights between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. that evening. Akron Police will be on patrol and pay special attention to children and families walking throughout city neighborhoods. Check out some Trick or Treat safety tips here

According to Akron City Council ordinance, “Trick or Treat Night” in the City of Akron is always the last Saturday in October from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

All throughout Akron, there are several Halloween-themed events happening all month long! 

  • Downtown Akron Partnership Fall Festival: Save the date for Downtown Akron Partnership’s 2025 Fall Fest on Saturday, October 18. Learn more here

  • Better Kenmore CDC’s Thriller on the BLVD: Who’s ready to boogie on the BLVD? Join Better Kenmore CDC for dance lessons and a final performance of Michael Jackson’s Thriller on Saturday, October 25 at 12pm. Learn more here

  • Akron Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo: On October 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26 from 11am-7pm, visit different themed areas across the zoo and enjoy classic fall games, character meet and greets, a mini corn maze, warm seasonal snacks and beverages, trick-or-treating and much more! Learn more here

  • Summit County Metroparks Fall Hiking Spree: The 2025 Fall Hiking Spree is happening now! This is the 62nd year of the spree. Complete at least 8 designated trails from Sept. 1 to Nov. 30 to receive rewards! Learn more here

  • Akron Children’s Museum Hands on Halloween: Take a break from trick-or-treating and come experience a Not-So-Spooky Monster Course thrill, Parade March excitement, Spooky Snacks, and creative Halloween STEM adventures to remember on Saturday, October 25 from 10am-3:30pm. Learn more here. 

  • Akron Civic Theatre Spooky Shows: Visit the Akron Civic Theatre throughout October and watch some thriller shows such as Young Frankenstein, One Dark Knight, The Vampire Circus, the Akron Independent Horror Short Film Festival, and more! Learn more here. 

  • Fall Into Recovery with IBH Addiction Recovery: Visit the IBH Addiction Recovery Main Campus on Wednesday, October 8, from 5–7 p.m. for a free, family-friendly community event to kick off the fall season!
