The City of Akron invites all community members to attend the third Open House for the Akron Innerbelt Master Plan on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron.

This event marks a pivotal next step in shaping the future of the Innerbelt and surrounding neighborhoods. With the theme of “Initial Directions,” this Open House will preview potential projects and investments that build on principles and goals shaped by earlier community conversations. Attendees will explore five key design strategies that aim to deliver long-term, community-centered benefits for Akron.

At this stage in the planning process, the project team is beginning to translate community aspirations into creative and actionable ideas. Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about key design strategies for community investment rooted in past feedback and visioning sessions.

  • Provide feedback on transformative project ideas aligned with these strategies.

  • Help prioritize which potential projects and investments should move forward.

This event also offers an exciting 30-minute walking tour with members of the planning team, giving residents a chance to walk the Innerbelt and discuss potential opportunities on-site.
