Downtown Akron Development Corporation

The first objective of Working Together in the Together for Akron plan is to cultivate a more vibrant Downtown, and last year we helped launch the Downtown Akron Development Corporation (DADC) and selected Christopher Hardesty as the director to help do just that!

Downtown is the heart of any city, and to know that we have someone waking up every day thinking about how we can redevelop underutilized spaces and really revitalize Downtown Akron is huge. The DADC is also a true testament to the spirit of collaboration that is such a big part of the culture of our community--this organization would not be possible without partnerships between the Knight Foundation, Greater Akron Chamber, Downtown Akron Partnership, and more.
