Home Avenue Improvements Project Notice

The City of Akron will be reconstructing 0.68 miles of Home Avenue between Fouse Avenue and Independence Avenue. The concrete pavement within the travel lanes will be removed and replaced with asphalt pavement.  The existing concrete curb and gutter will remain. Sidewalks, curb, drive aprons, storm inlets, manhole castings, watermains, and sewers in poor condition will be repaired or replaced as needed. The pavement at the intersection of East Talmadge Avenue and Home Avenue is excluded from the project. The City of Akron will be taking this opportunity to restripe Home Avenue to improve safety. Home Avenue between the limits of Fouse Avenue and Independence Avenue, will be restriped with one lane in each direction, a center two way left turn lane, and as space allows, bike lanes on each side of the street. Construction is expected to occur in the summer of 2025.
