The City Of Akron To Celebrate Trick Or Treat On Saturday, October 28 From 5-7 PM
This year, the City of Akron’s annual celebration of Halloween will take place on Saturday, October 28. Akron residents who wish to participate in “Trick or Treat Night” may show their support by turning on their porch lights between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. that evening. Akron police patrols will pay special attention to children and families walking city neighborhoods to promote a safe and successful celebration for all.
According to Akron City Council ordinance, “Trick or Treat Night” in the City of Akron is always the last Saturday in October from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Downtown Akron Partnership will also be hosting their second-annual Fall Fest on Saturday, October 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Cascade Plaza in downtown Akron.
This Halloween-themed family event will feature trick-or-treat stations on Main St. from 5 to 7 p.m., music by local band Wishgarden, food, a fire pit lounge, pumpkin decorating, and a free showing of the popular 1993 movie, Hocus Pocus, at 7 p.m.
Fall Fest is presented by Downtown Akron Partnership with support from the City of Akron, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and Ohio Arts Council.
“Trick or Treat is an opportunity for our neighborhoods and the community to come together to provide a fun, safe environment for children and families to celebrate with one another,” said Mayor Horrigan. “I can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes and Halloween decorations this year. Have a safe and fun Halloween, Akron!”
