Free Summer Meals
Starting today, the City of Akron will provide meals to all eligible youth (18 years of age or younger) and summer day camp program participants that meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. The meals will be prepared by Akron Public Schools and passed out a variety of community centers and other city locations. The program runs Monday-Friday from June 8 – July 31 excluding Fri. Ohio Legislature Approves City of Akron State Capital Budget Requests
Yesterday, the Ohio General Assembly finalized and approved Senate Bill 450, which appropriates $3.7 billion in capital funding throughout the state for the next fiscal year. This year’s capital budget bill provides nearly $7.8 million for Summit County projects, including $400,000 for the City of Akron’s Dan Street Public Safety Training Facility.
